Latest Project Complete
As stated in a previous post I’ve recently just got back into freelancing after taking time off to spend with my then neglected family. I have learnt my lesson that whilst still holding down a full-time job I need to pace myself with any freelance work I may get, meaning not taking on more then I can chew.
I think explaining to clients that I currently hold down a day job is a must, and though I hate to do this but also having the bottle to turn work down until I’m in a position to work on them. That was the main factor for not coping last time was to take on as much as possible and then finding that I had no time or was too tied for my family. My dream is to eventually take up freelancing full-time and I felt that I needed to take on as much as possible to warrant the move and I believed that turning work away was going to send a bad vibe out to clients. I now know that most clients can be very understanding and are willing to wait until they know that their project will get 100% dedication.
Anyway the reason for the post was to show the most recent completed project. The client was a small start-up photography studio to which I was involved in the branding, promotional flyer and website design & hosting.
Now I know that I’m still a newbie when it comes to fully developing a site with CSS so fingers crossed that the mark-up is correct even though both XHTML & CSS validate (apart from the lightbox.css). The light box JavaScript on the gallery page was provided by Lokesh Dhakar
If any of you have comments or tips regarding the mark-up then please feel free to leave a comment, ‘m here to learn.
